Keeping you at the forefront of make-up artistry!

We always say you never stop learning! That’s why we run our make up masterclasses to keep you at the forefront of make up artistry.  Our fat mu masterclasses are open to professional working make up artists and our fat mu graduates (MU-ettes).   These classes are run a few times a year and subjects change from season to season.  They include advanced fashion, age-ing make up for HD cameras, intro to casualty effects, period hairstyling, airbrushing.  If YOU have something you want to learn, tell us and we’ll try and make it happen for you.  Again, classes are small so that you get the most out of each session.

fat mu is proud to introduce our very first Prosthetics course taught by Australian make-up fx designer Larry Van Duynhoven - owner of Scarecrew Studios.

Larry has over 15 years of experience in both fields of film and television. Some of his credits include being the make-up designer for Netflix’s Cargo starring Martin Freeman and he’s also worked on projects like Lion starring Dev Patel, Mel Gibson’s Hacksaw Ridge, Prime Video’s Preacher (Season 4), Relic, Where the Wild Things Are and Top of the Lake (Season 2).

With Larry’s experience and knowledge of special effects make-up, this is a great opportunity to join him for 5 days and learn DESIGN, SCULPTING, MOULDING, CASTING, APPLICATION and COLOURING of prosthetic wounds, which will help further your career as a SFX make-up artist.

This course is very specialised and intensive. The batches are restricted to 10 students max so as to give each student individual attention.

A basic kit is provided to each student so that they can continue their SFX journey even after the course.
